OK so I'm on the hunt for new laptop with a budget of €400/€450. I know a bit but not too techy on what to try and look for or need to get. I currently have an Aspire 5536.

I only use my laptop for the following:

    Web surfing/email
    Some poker online
    Word processor for college
    CAD
    Music (2k-3ksongs) Photos (same)
    Very light amount of downloading
    Connecting laptop to TV
    CD rewriter

So can anybody offer some advice please?

I think this would be a better option, mainly because as a second generation sandybridge model it offers a better battery life if you will be bringing it into college.

Once they ship it a couple of days max, sometimes they may need contact you to the verify shipping address as they cannot do it this automatically for Irish Cards/Addresses, which can delay things by a few days.
