Altering a leather jacket?

I found a really nice muubaa black leather biker-ish jacket in TK Maxx today -originally 370 down to 89 (and probably the most I've spent on one item of clothes since I was 16).
It's the right size, and when it's closed it has a nice shape as in, it nips in at the waist and goes out again. But I plan to mostly wear it open, and when it's open it's less fitted looking obviously.

I'm thinking the answers to my problem would be to have one of those cinching buckles/straps on each side... does anybody know what I mean? so that, even when open I could cinch it a bit for a better shape. Has anyone done this before or have any advice? I assume I'd have to take it to some kind of leather specialist..

I'm also planning to add a few studs to it, but a little worried about ruining it.. does anybody have experience with studding a leather jacket? Is it easy or will I likely ruin it?!

    Thanks for any input!
