Ever been around someone who thinks that what they say is funny but it's not, it's just really irritating? If so could you tell us about these annoying experiences with your friend/co-worker/acquaintance?

Its not irritating, its actually amusing by how idiotic they seem.

When around the type of person that cracks a joke every 30 seconds I take a joy in acting completely emotionless.

...Well I've been around some Irish comedians who think they are the best thing in terms of 'funny'.
    I disagree with their self-assessment.

I live with one. There is no easier way to earn contempt.

Anybody who makes a living off it is funny to somebody( or quite a few somebodies).

True, one man's meat is another's poison generally.
That said, I have met some very bad ones that though they were the greatest on earth - and they had the ego to match.

I think everyone knows a David Brent or two.

I also live with one, my favourite pass time is not laughing at their "witticisms"!

I'm one of those people, but I mostly do it to amuse myself. If you don't get my A material, then you're missing out!

Yes, yes I have. Sometimes I just want to get a mallet and smash their brains in.

I usually just feel sorry for them and laugh sympathetically.

An ex-boyfriend used to say "I'm the funniest guy I know, I get all my own jokes" needless to say, not the funniest I ever knew or know now.

I'm funny...its just that my wife doesn't get the jokes.

Other day she asked if I had ever had sex behind her back... I said..

" who did you think it was "

Any woman who makes a joke really. Not funny, except in the case where she's hot and you laugh because she's hot.

There are very, very few funny female comedians. Granted it's mostly guys that do stand up, but of the women that are out there doing it, the ones that seem to make it big appear to all have bought the same joke book in the early 90's.

Most of these type of people tend to end up having their own shows on RTE.

People like David McSavage & Maeve Higgins.

Joan Rivers would make that funny.

Let's not forget that appalling cnut, Jason Byrne here star. Himself and Higgins lend a certain amount of credence to McSavage's (who I think gets more abuse than he is due) humour.

Jason Byrne is the unfunniest man that ever trod shoe-leather. And he's loud, annoying, and oblivious to his lack of talent.

He's the bloke at the dinner party who you hope will go home, so the quiet dry witty one will say something.

(Other than, well thank fcuk for that.)

Nothing worse than hearing a line from tv or a movie being passed off as somebody's own joke, usually something from Podge & Rodge that start with "she has a face like a......." or "if I'd a ..... fully of mickey's". Cringeworthy stuff.

Having said that, I'd laugh for days at a really terrible pun, so I'm probably not a great judge of humour
