    Hi,

I have an old Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, The screen is banjoed, don't ask...

I want to remove the screen and use the laptop with an external monitor, yes, REMOVE the screen at the hinges!

First of all, will this make it go mad at me that it doesn't have the inbuilt screen attached? And second, how can I GUARANTEE that every time I switch it on it will use the monitor through the VGA port

Not sure if it matters, but it currently runs Windows Vista, 32 bit, I'm planning on upgrading it to Windows 7 Ultimate in the next week or so

    Thanks,
    nim
