A thread dedicated to the unfashionable grafters of intercounty football. In the last 25-30 years who did you look to when your team was stuggling 4 points down and it looked like the summer was over. Your stars were not performing and you looked to the heart and soul of your team, the guy put his head on someones foot to block the ball, body checked a charging midfielder 3 stone heavier and without whom you knew you just would not win.

    Tyrone - Brian Dooher
    Kerry - Paul Galvin
    Dublin - Keith Barr
    Kildare - Glen Ryan
    Meath - Kevin Foley

    Who was/is your favourite?

Pretty sure players like Brian Doher, Johnny Doyle and Paul Galvin count as 'stars'!

John Quane for Limerick....and after him John Galvin.

Obviously Galvin is a star but he did everything. When we'd be losing, he'd drag us up...run from defence to attack- blocking, catching, starting moves, finishing them up.

    Quane was a legend too.
