    Hi guys,
Had a great round at Galway bay golf and country club recently(highly recommend) and played my buddy in a matchplay.
Playing the last par 3 I just copped that I had birdied the first 3 of the par 3's and had a chance to birdie all 4. Alas no- straight into a bunker on front left but surprisingly for me(and I mean highly surprisingly) I got up and down for par. I know there's a lot of guys here into the ole stats but was just wondering if it's very unusual to be 3 under for par 3's or maybe its not as rare as I'm hoping it might be!!

It would depend on the difficulty of the par 3's in question, but to be 3 under for the 4 par 3's is great going as quite often the par 3's are the most difficult to birdie. I hope you entered the 2's club!

2s are like hen's teeth. Lovely hurling.

3 birdies in 4 par 3s is excellent. Par 3s tend to be my card wrecker.

Scores on the Par 3s are a very good indicator of how well you are playing, that was nice shooting. If you look at the PGA events you will often find the winning score to be way under par but the winners score for the Par 3s alone can often be over par for the tournament, with the par 5s giving the most birdies.

Played with a guy in Carlow a few years ago and he birdied all 4 par 3's. Also played with a guy in an Open a few weeks ago who told me that he had 2 holes in one in the same round last year.
