Did you buy an OEM copy of windows 7? If so you cannot install it on a new pc (OEM copies are tied to the systems motherboard once activated). The retail version of 7 does not have this limitation, and it is just a case of installing it on the new system and activating it. The upgrade edition of windows 7 afaik is tied to the system that the upgrade takes place on (ie deauthorizes a previous install and installs 7 on top of it)

Bought a retail copy, and installed it myself, It wasnt the upgrade, did a complete clean install.

So just reactivating it will be grand then? I thought sinead it was activated once before there might be a problem

    Thanks Nick

Your good to go, if it doesn't activate online automatically do it over the phone. Retail copies can be installed on new hardware legitimately, your paying the extra cost for a retail copy for this (and other) benefits
