Has anyone ever been involved in, part of, or listened to a conversation that has made their blood boil or a conversation that you found extremely boring/unexciting; and if so, could you give examples? :D

I once knew a guy who would go on and on. I once listened to him for damn near eight hours talking about how great he was and what a nice guy he was. Utter ****. The dip**** also talked once about how he was probably psychic on the grounds that his nipples felt a bit weird, which meant that a particular girl was flickin' the bean thinking about him. Turns out she thought he was a chump and we ended up going out for a while. Right pillock.

Yes, the "where are you working now question" (not so much an issue now but until recently I bloody hated it)

And the "You going on holidays this year" question from the hairdresser :o grrr. No I'm not going on holidays, stop fucking reminding me.

His particular brand of insanity isn't recognised, unfortunately, and he's free to spread his stupidity all over Limerick.

Conversations with old piss soaked drunk people on buses where you are on the inside and no chance of escape. Not even earphones are a repellent.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21 mick.m

To be fair a lot of these conversations are probably just the other person trying to be friendly and start a conversation. Your opinion on the weather may not be top of the list of things they want to discuss, but it is a way to develop a conversation further.

"What do you mean 'you don't drink wine'?! Have you ever actually tried it? Maybe you should try a nice rose. Or I've a lovely Pinot Grigio in the fridge, have a glass, it's really nice, very sweet." Usually all said while shoving a glass under my nose.

No, I don't drink wine, I don't like wine, it's all a particularily horrible variety of vinegar to me, makes no difference if it's red, white, rose or blue with purple spots. And I've had this conversation with you at least once every 6 months for the last 15 years. I remember your drinking tastes ffs!
