We really just need women. Guys are welcome too, but I can't guarantee you'll get gametime. We've got a lot of strong guys this year.

But women... you'll be guaranteed to play full games.

The Homers (aka AIB Loan Homers, though they don't belong to AIB any more) are based in Eamonn Ceannt Park in Kimmage, and are always looking for players.

Check out http://old.homers-softball.com (website is currently being revamped, this is old website) or PM me if you need more details

I play for the Mariners out in Greystones which is probably too far for you. I can highly recommend The Homers as a good and fun team, from playing against them on several occasions. We as a team do not discourage anyone from joining up and try to give everyone game time regardless of skill level or seniority.

    Hi all,

Looking for some advice, i love basbeall and always wanted to try and give it a go and just seen this forum on boards now.

Anyway i would be a total beginner and was wondering which would be best to do Baseball or Softball. Oh don't tell everyone but im the big 30:eek: does that matter??

I know the season is nearly over but just looking for some advice as i think i may be too old to start. I have had a look at the the leinster softball site but would prob prefer baseball

Any help or advice would be great:D

Kind of late to reply, but I just saw your post. I'd definitly give it a try. Go for baseball. Softball is fun, but you did say that you would probably prefer baseball. Follow that dream, and have fun. The big 3-0 doesn't matter, but go ahead and check it out with a doctor. ( I think that is good all round advice before starting andthing that is strenous). Post here if you try it and let us know ho wit works out.

    Hi,

I'd say go for Baseball if you would prefer to do that. There is 2 Baseball Leagues the A and B. The B is a development league and is good for starting out and learning all the basics.

The season has just finished over the weekend. The Black Sox i'm sure will be looking for new players next year. More info on the team here if you have any other questions let me know

There is winter training each year which is a perfect place to learn to play or sharpen your skills. Last year it ran for 12 weeks and started in February. Its usually in Morton Staduim, Santry on Saturdays.
Balls, bats etc are supplied and there are always spare gloves around.
No matter what club you join I would highly reccomend the winter training.
You will learn alot and you will be better prepared for the season.
Info will be posted here and on baseballireland.com early next year.

    Best of luck.

As most of our games are played in dublin no matter where you live in the south you can still join and play.
