Democrats, not I it has to be said, bought the dream over common sense last time in selecting Barak. It was a noble dream thats not worked out as Barak is about as commanding as Scooter in the Muppet Show.

Hillary has the cajones to face down the anti-American Tea Partyers and put that minority within a minority in its place.

All things being equal she'd wipe the floor with any Republican candidate. When she challenges, Obama should put country before ego and allow her run unopposed.

These times and crises are too dangerous for politicking...

    It's spelt Barrack.

How is the Tea Party "Anti-American"?

The US spending is out of control. America has the same debt to GDP and deficit level as Ireland. But at least Ireland is somewhat determined to balance its books in a few years. The Tea Party were the only ones to take the out-of-control spending seriously.

Clinton would be the same as Obama, if you want change in the form of a democrat go for Kucinich.

It's Barack, and Hillary is closer to the center than he is.

The tea party is anti-democracy in that they think they should be able to force the views they agree with on everyone else. They're losing steam already, and most other Americans view them negatively. They're nothing to worry about. Just another fad along the lines of the Reform Party.

The more that people wake up to the reality of their origin and what their elected representatives are doing with their power now that they're in office, the less noise they'll make. Can't happen soon enough really.

So by marching and going out and protesting they are anti-democracy for forcing their views upon others? When the left protests they seem to be heroes.

How can increasing spending and the debt ceiling be surrendering?

Why are you bringing up marching and protesting? What an astoundingly obvious and weak strawman. It's almost unbelievable.

Back to the topic: Have you somehow already forgotten the part where they held the country hostage to force their priorities on everyone else? While most other Americans wanted the burden shared more equitably, and for the tea party crowd to go shove their so-called "principles"?

Here's David Frum making sense again. I wonder if the tea party is catching on yet that their 15 minutes is almost up.

These people were democratically elected to represent their voters.

Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and all could've easily got through any bill they wanted with democratic support. However. the tea party threatened to use democracy within the republican party to kick these people out of public office. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not like they didn't let the vote go ahead.

Also, it is shocking for you to ask them to shove their principles.

They gave the people what they voted for. That is democracy. Obama hates democracy because he didn't.

The whole debt ceiling thing worked out perfectly for the tea party. Now people will see how much worse the country will get as a result of raising it and the tea party will make big gains in the house, senate and possibly get the president.

Standards and Poor are saying the tea party are to blame for the decreased credit rating. Ironic if they end up increasing the debt instead of reducing it.

The only way the debt could be reduced is by making a budget surplus. Bernie Sanders is probably the only person who would attempt that. The thing is, the tea party simply don't want to pay the money back. The others want to pay them back using printed money, which is technically debt repayment. Of course if a group dares to try and change things (The culture of borrowing constantly to pay back debt, increasing debt) of course someone will take notice.

The TP are unashamed and vocal of their wish to destroy the Status quo and have no qualms in anhilating the US economy in their pursuit.

It depends what you call the status quo. If you mean the deficit then yes they want to destroy it because it's unsustainable to have such a large deficit.

What is so great about the status quo? I thought you and your party hated the status quo when Bush was in charge? You wanted "change".

Right up until a Republican wins back the white house. At which stage they'll all go home to watch Fox and cheer whatever new multibillion dollar war they manage to hoodwink the nation into.

Some of the tea party's biggest enemies are republicans. Mike Castle, Scott Brown, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner are among the enemies of the tea party. It is true that the Palinites will get behind anyone the republicans put up, but the libertarian faction of the tea party will not.

There will be nothing left of it after Fox withdraw their free advertising and put their muscle behind the republican.

Face it, the Tea party is doomed.

There will be more tea partyers elected in 2012 than in 2010. Wait and see. We'll probably get the presidency too.

We will as in the tea party. I would consider myself part of the libertarian wing of the tea party. How much money are you willing to put on it? I'll use up any remaining money that I didn't put where my mouth was with gold.
