THere are network settings that need to be put into the phone or else there is a carrier file that needs to be downloaded.

    What network are you on.

Connect to itunes. It will detect current carrier file and notify you if update exists. You then have to accept the update and thats it. Just be aware that it will also promt you if a firmware upgrade is available. Totally different kettle of fish. Be careful ;)

You dont néed to connect to iTunes to find this out. Simply go into settings/general about and examine your network's carrier file and your firmware version. Your should be on carrier file 10.0 and v 4.3.5 of this OS.

If not, reconnect to iTunes and press update in your device's onscreen summary.

op dont do that, updating will remove any jalbreak that ya might have and wont make a difference to the carrier file, ya would get the latest carrier file no even if you were on 4.1

if nothing comes up in itunes when ya connect the phone that means ya have the latest carrier file, all ya can do now is ring vodafone

Ah, didn't know your device was jailbroken. Your carrier file sounds well out of date.

Have no idea what they are.

download tiny umbrella and run it with the iphone connected, click save my shsh and it will tell you if cydia has them saved for each firmware, if it does you can restore to 4.1 which will force an update of the carrier file

before any of that though i think you should ring vodafone because afaik the mms settings havent changed at all

I've had problems sending mms on iPhone 3GS on vodafone, my carrier is 10 and 4.3.4 any other ideas. V frustrating that they send sometimes and not others even when connected with 3G.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Ps not jailbroken
