Can anyone recommend a lock for the coillte barriers that cannot be glued, have metal or matchsticks inserted or cut with a boltcutters? Ive heard of locks that have all these properties but cant find them anywhere. Anything to deter the poaching scum this season would be a help lads. All suggestions welcome

The discus locks are fairly good, the new yellow and black locks that coillte use are ****e, they are easily broken.

from what i hear some clubs doing is as follows if you lock up the gates too much your kinda saying stay out really hard and then the more they will try to get in to that area so just normal locks i know your taking chance what can you do

These do a good selection of locks......might see something.

We have the same problem with locks in work......we use high security locks on gates that are practically impossible to cut / smash but I don't know how you are going to combat the problem of matches stuck in to the keyhole etc.

In the keyhole of the locks we used we have had matches stuck in.....narrow strands of wire forced in.......superglue poured in.......wrong key inserted and then snapped off etc. etc.

The problem with a expensive / high security / impossible to cut lock is that when they do any of the above it's practically impossible for you to get the lock off or cut it to open the gate.

A high security combination lock.....where there's no keyhole may solve it......I've never tried it so do know!

Few high security combination locks here that may suit your needs

Make sure your gate lack has a tamper resistant can welded on. So it is harder to snip the lock or the receiver. Like what was said before you don't want it completely inaccessible in case you need to change the lock.

Might be handier to put a trail camera up looking onto your gate to take a snap of any poachers doing criminal damage to your gate and or armed trespassing. Then forward the pics onto the guards and see what they can do for you.

You can set the camera to take still photos or videos.

Might get a more permanent solution to the problem.

around our area where hunters and poachers werent been happy with the gates been locked they resorted to pulling the barrier out of the ground with the concrete and all still attached

Stupid Q? But why would they want to put match sticks in them or pour glue in. I understand why they'd break the lock to get in and out.
Is it not Coilte that supply the locks not the clubs?
