Transfer from Nice Airport to Esterel

    Hi travelling with family next week to campsite in Esterel - flying in to Nice airport. We are hiring a car but wonder if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. There will be 6 of us in total 2 adults, 2 x 16 year olds, 13 & 10 along with luggage so we will need a big car just for the airport transfers but will get by with smaller one for rest of holiday - dont think 16's will want to be seen with us. The journey is supposed to be 44 miles so we are thinking of making two trips to and from airport. Has anyone taken a taxi for this type of journey and is it very expensive. Any suggestions appreciated.

    I'll put it like this. When we visit nice, we stay in a house at the far end of the Promenade des Anglais (Quai des Etats Unis). Distance is 7km if you stay on the main road along the Promenade. Cost: €35 minimum but usually more due to traffic.

    If you don't need a bigger car except for the transfer, probably better to get an intermediate and make two trips. MPVs tend to be crazy money to hire anyway.

    Thank you for reply - dont think we will take taxi. I see that there is a swift bus service from St Raphael to Nice airport I wonder if this would be a possibility - put bags, younger children and husband in car and I take bus with older ones. As you are familiar with the area do you think this sounds feasible.

    Absolutely! It's a very good idea (sorry I didn't think of it...). Only reason we don't bus to get to the house is that we'd still have a bit of a walk with suitcases, pram etc.
