    ok -

posted my selection last night but long and short of it is....should one of the teams on my selection be void ?

    I had a 5 team accumulator:
    Cork City 13/8
    Bohs 2/1
    Monaghan 3/10
    Derry 1/9
    Drogheda Utd 7/2

BUT .... I placed the bet at 7.24pm (I didn't realise the Bohs game had already started and was 20mins in) .... turns out all the other teams won except Bohs - should I demand winnings from the bookie ?

Also had a second bet for Cork, Derry (-2) and Finn Harps ....just need finn harps to win and I should get €110ish ....each of the bets were €10.

If there was no in running betting on that particular game that leg of the accum should be voided, they probably have done so anyway.

and if there was in-running betting ?

Then you are on at the in running price. As this was on tv live then chances are there was in running betting

In fairness even if was available in running you'd have a decent chance of it being voided, particularly if the 2/1 you put on the docket wasn't remotely near their in running price at the time. If they were 2/1 at the time then you are ore than likely goosed, unless it was on a coupon you marked your bets, if it's on the coupon then it's void me thinks.

    Its not voided.

there was in running betting so it doesn't matter if you wrote down 1000/1.

    good luck with harps.

at 19.24 the game was scoreless, and the price on Bohs was 21/10. As the game was in running, you don't have much come back.

.. what about if the bets were marked on the coupon?

The bet is not a winner it's a simple as that.

Without knowing was the bet on a docket or a coupon it cannot be said if it's a loser or not.

A coupon is just for convenience, it makes no difference really. Although the cashier taking the bet should really look at the slips before they take them, this rarely happens anymore.

Ultimately, its the responsibility of the customer to make sure that he/she checks the details of the bet before placing. As there was live betting available on the Bohs match, it was reasonable to expect the manager to translate the bet into the live betting market.

Having said that, if the OP was to make a phone call to customer services, theres a good chance that, at worst, he will be offered a free bet...and if he gets someone on a good day, they may void the Bohs selection - if it was placed on a coupon, and he explains that he was unaware of live betting on the game.

I think some folk here would want to have a read of the terms and conditions on the wall in their local betting office.

yes but all bookmakers are different so no use keep saying that if it is on a coupon it is void. I spoke to a couple of firms today and they said it does not make a difference. I spoke to one firm today and manager said that if it was in running and you did not ask for a price then the match should be void. If op pm me with the details of the firm he had bet with. I will fill him in with details as I do not want to get into what one firm will do versus another.

........... I spoke to one firm today and manager said that if it was in running and you did not ask for a price then the match should be void. .........

That was one of my points.
And if it's on a coupon the coupon is not for in running bets so it's void too.

I went into the shop today and asked what the story was....

they have posters up saying bets wont be accepted more than 20seconds after the off, so I asked if my selection was null and void....I told them it was 20mins after kick off.

initially I was told it would be taken out of the accumulator, then I was told the game was 7.45 kick off and my bet was placed at 7.24, I mentioned it was on TV last night kick off at 7.05....they checked it out, kick off was 7.05pm.

    so ... €170 .... woo hoo (not bad for a €10 bet)

and I'll be taking more money from them tomorrow ...Finn Harps won ....so have a Derry(-2), Cork City and Finn Harps ...with respective odds of 10/11, 13/8 and 6/5...again €10 on...works out around €110 (I think)

    got lucky !! Phew !!

I find it strange that they gave it to you to be honest.

Supposing they had won and they voided it you wouldn't have been too happy.

    Good to hear anyway.

to be fair I would have taken it ... without bohs it was €160 profit and if bohs had won it would have been about €500 - I was shocked that it had won to be fair ...and my second bet also won - must collect that tomorrow (Cork, Derry (-2) and Finn Harps)

I got lucky this week - plenty of weeks when the money goes to the bookie.
