    anyone recomend any good books for learning photograpy basics landscapes in particalur bearing in mind im a complete novice iv a fuji finepix s1730 thanks

    "understanding exposure" seems to be the book of choice recommended here normally - I have no idea who wrote it but shouldn't be too hard to find.

    you could always google basic photography terms, read your camera manual and test out your camera in different settings/modes.

    google stuff like, depth of field, aperture, shutter speeds, exposure times, relationship between aperture and shutter, ISO, ASA (american version of ISO) grain, post processing techniques, post processing programs, composition, rule of thirds, light, using flash, off camera flash, lighting techniques.....and I'm sure you can find plenty more while reading all the material that those terms will give you.

    thanks theirs food for thought there ill be busy for a while with all that lol iv to get thefuji manual printed tho its a cd rom and i will read up on it and the other book while fishing the main reason im starting this as a new hobbie.

    +1 for Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson.

    As a novice I'm finding this book really useful, and I'm not that far into it yet.
