    What is with this mentality with a lot of people, that to be a Dub, you have to be “born and raised between the canals”. Is this notion not a bit quaint given that the Dublin Metropolitan Area extends over much of rural County Dublin and North Kildare/ North Wicklow these days.

    It’s the same mentality that someone from somewhere like Rush is a culchie as opposed to a Dub, despite been born and raised in County Dublin - as well as probably supporting the Dubs in GAA. Not that’s there’s anything wrong with been a culchie mind you. ;)

    Well from what I can see, most dubliners are different to the rest of Irish people.

    Born and raised in Dublin for most my life.

    What you seem to be saying is that you have to be born and raised a working class person in order to be a dub, that's nonsense.

    Have you seen the people that hang around Dublin waterways currently?

    I really don't think most Dubs, even those born between the two canals, actually think that. And I was born between the two canals.

    Alot Dublin people remind me of Liverpool people. I don't know why. Don't know what accent is worse strong dublin or liverpool.
