What will Michael D Higgins do as president?

Let's face it, now that the David Norris Happy Fun Time Bus has crashed into a truckload of whatthef*ckery, the remaining candidates are either really boring or in Dana's case so evil the Nazis wouldn't have her.

There's still Michael D. Higgins, though. Now, at first glance, he's not particularly suited to being president. Heck, he looks unsuitable after a second or third glance.

But there's one thing about him that sets him apart from the flock: He's batsh*t crazy.

I shall now throw open the thread to wild speculation as to what Ireland might be like under the bould Micky D. Will he stay true to his socialist roots and turn the Aras into a sweatshop for building cheap mobile phones bound for Uzbekistan? Will he try to criminalise bees? Will he tear down the spire and replace it with a hundred and fifty foot statue of Karl Marx built WITH HIS BARE HANDS?

    Place your bets now!

I will vote for the president the same way as I vote in elections.

I vote for the best looking out of a bad lot, perish the thought of ending up with another brian cowen.

I'll also vote for particularly crazy people -- such as bishop michael cox (ordained Sinead o connor) and john bracken (you have to hear his election song lol).

Having no idea who's running for presidency this year, I'm obviously at a loss at who to vote for.

They'll be no Obama tho :(

It would be cool if our president was a pimp though

I don't think there's anyone in the running with the strength of character to go upside a bitch's head. And that's a damn shame.

Micky D is gonna dance the macarena with me. And drink tequila while I talk dirty in Spanish.
Also, he will get elected, he'll get all the ghey votes from Norris because he used to frolic around with the lads when he was a young one.
And then we shall dance some more.

I imagine his first act as president will be to magnify the light of the moon onto the sacred stone of the Ancient Faerie Order with his spectacles on the third hour of Imbolc and bring about a new era of chaos and destruction.

There will be an end to the cash nexus, a revolution of the common man and a cultural revolution for some; and little red flags for others.
