Just wondering has anyone any experience of commuting from Dublin to Navan on the bus for work on a daily basis? I work in Navan and I'm hoping to commute from Dublin. Thanks.

Well I've done it the other way round for college, it depends on where you're working in navan to be honest, the bus will drop you off in the market square or beside mercy convent.

It takes about an hour and 10 minutes from Bus aras and the buses are, in my experience, almost always on time from dublin.

I would agree with the previous post. The 109 route is generally a first-rate service. Buses are generally on time. The only exception is that traffic can sometimes delay them. Have found the 0730 ex Busáras can get a little delayed but not too much. This should not be a problem on the morning commute ex Dublin but there could be a little delay on the return evening journey some evenings.

There are several bus stops in Navan and its outskirts. The main stop coming from Dublin is at the Mercy Convent on Railway Street. All Dublin-bound buses depart from the Market Square. There is a shelter here between the TR's newsagents and the cafe. One can avail of real time info for this stop by texting "56200" to 087-9903410 (Bus Éireann) so if the bus back to Dublin in the evening is running a little late it will show up in the text as a little late. Same info can be accessed on http://www.whensmybus.ie

There is a town service network in Navan with three routes that provides reasonable coverage of the suburbs if the 109 doesn't go near your final destination.

A taxsaver ticket could be well worth looking at.

The 109 timetable just lists the main intermediate stops. The buses will pick-up at stops coming out of Dublin (e.g. rear of Mater Hospital; Phibsboro Church; Halfway House etc...)

Hope something here might be of help.
