I know O2 in the UK are getting it, so maybe we will too. Its a pretty solid phone and feels nice in the hand, its quite a small device but the screen is really nice, not sure about the battery:rolleyes:

Anyone have this phone would they recommend it? Reviews look good

I see simplyelectronics.net are selling it. Reviews on their site say it has terrible battery life.

Cnet said the battery life is 2 days including syncing which seems to be standard in a phone like this http://asia.cnet.com/product/sony-ericsson-xperia-ray-45526283.htm

Some review said 13 hours, that must be with constant usage maybe wifi?
It has a 1500 mAh battery which seems decent given the small size

€329.99 from Vodafone now, considering acquiring one of these. Build quality just seems better than the Neo, no HDMI but I doubt I'd use that feature anyway.

Now 279.99 from Vodafone. Does anybody here have this phone and would they recommend it? I think I'll wait until Christmas before getting a new handset but at the moment it's between this and the Xperia Arc S. :)

i have the xperia ray and it's a pretty awesome phone. it's light, i can barely feel it in my pocket, and the battery lasts a lot longer than most other android phones. i might need to charge it at the end of the day if i use it heavily (eg. lots of browsing, google navigation, and playing games) but most of the time 2 to 3 days on one charge is fine on moderate internet use. i would recommend getting it sim free and not from vodafone or o2 or whoever because they install loads of bloatware on it because they do impact your battery life and it's a hassel to get rid of all that by rooting.

it's got a great suite of applications, and if you're a facebook user (i'm not) or a twitter use (I'm not) you should check out their timescape widget, which is just beautiful. the screen is amazing, although typing is a bit harder compared to big phones, which is worth the weight and size reduction i would say. i don't like holding bricks to my face. swype makes my life a bit easier, and if i'm in a relatively quite place (eg not in a cinema or next to cars honking) the voice search is quite good off google as well. i did replace some of the applications so i could sync my music library with the phone, like doubletwist, just for convenience. after customizing the phone with my own applications and settings, i have to say it definitely beat the experience i had with my old iphone

Does this phone have Flash? Very interested in buying it but it's very expensive with 3 compared to Vodafone etc. I wonder if it's available sim free in any shops?

Yeah it has flash. 29 euro for it on a 25p/m plan on 3. Looks like a great fairly cheap phone.

That does look like a good deal, only problem is it's for a teenager who texts a lot and I mean "A Lot." Then there's Facebook and losing themselves online etc.The prepay all you can eat suits her down to the ground so think we'll stick with that. The difference of €60 between Vodafone and 3 is pretty steep though. Guarantee the minute I buy it the price will go down within weeks.

Jellysms gives 333 extra texts. Still very little at 533 texts at most, unlimited Internet but no calls to anyone but 3. Extra 4.99 add on gives 150 minutes though.
