Waterford to Dublin taxsaver ticket

    Hi,

Newbie at work planning to commute from Waterford to Dublin each day by train.
I looked up the taxsaver site, logged in as employer as I am in charge of this.

Seems to be a huge discrepancy between a monthly (€575) ticket and an annual (€3,500) - can anyone explain why?

Usually the payroll department just divide the cost of an annual ticket by 12 & deduct this figure from gross salary. But surely it would make a big difference to a person's take home pay if they were down 575 per month versus 292 per month?

    Am I missing something here?
