Short Term lets - how does deposit work?

Im toying with the idea of renting out my spare room on a short term basis [rather than to one person, long term]. What Im wondering about is how would a deposit work? Where for a long term tennant its a months rent as a deposit, where someone is staying for 2 months [say] - how would you do the deposit?

How about doing an increased rent per week with a proportion to be returned at the end? Like if the rent is €100 a week, collect €150 and return €200 at the end of the month?
