I have had my iPod Nano for 3/4 years without any problems.
I keep in on the dock and when I tried to play it today there was no response.....the screen does not even light up or show anything. I plugged it into my laptop incase the problem was with the dock but the laptop is not even recognising that I plugged it in....HELP!!!!!!!!

might be something as simple as a build up of dust etc in the port on the bottom stopping it charging, or perhaps the cable being bad

oh sorry, I misread your post as being 'not used your ipod for 3/4 years', which is why I mentioned dust in the charge port

doesnt sound good im afraid so - though, would still suggest trying someone elses cable to charge it (or have someone else try your cable), eliminate that as the prob firstly
