The Gears of War games are great craic, Borderlands is fun too.

Little Big Planet 2 (4-Player)
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (2-player)
Castle Crashers (4-player)

The Earth Defence Force games have a cult following. You should look into them too - you'd then have 'cred up the wazoo' (not a game)!

I would second Gears of War and Borderlands. I would also recommend Halo Reach and Warhammer 40K Kill Team on XBLA is good fun. If there are kids involved, the Lego series from TTGames are great for co-op.

Co-optimus is a good source for co-op gaming.
