Getting Fitted

    Hi.

    First post here.
I'm looking to buy a hybrid bike. It's just for casual cycling.
Have my eye on a Giant Roam or Roam 2. Budget would be between €400 and €600.

    Two Questions:

    1. Was going to buy from the Bike Hub in Howth (I live near there). What are they like?
    2. Is there a need to get fitted?

    Advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Zak.

As you're buying from a shop (never been in Bike Hub) I'm sure they'll make sure everything is a good fit when you pick it up - just ask them

I dunno, for a hybrid, I'd recommend booking flights to Arizona to faster, they've a wind tunnel to help get optimal positioning. :p
Nah, bike shop will fit you up.

I've only been there once to have a spoke replaced and have the bike serviced.

They were very professional and had the bike ready when they said they would.

That's enough to put them ahead of most bike shops I've been to.

I'd definitely go back to them, despite having other shops closer to home.

Hi, I would highly recommend the Bike Hub, these guys know what they are talking about and have set up the place from their own love of cycling, so they are not some generic sales shop!

Would definitely advise getting fitted. Every person is different therefore not one size fits all. My friend just got a Trax bike last week from these guys and they did a great job of making sure this was the right size, fram and fit for her.

I don't know about for fitting but for general customer service I found that bike shop in Howth to be excellent.

Everywhere will do some checks to make sure the frame is not too big or small for you. That's all I got when I bought my hybrid and it is fine for me. I gradually adjusted a few bits and pieces over the years but for shorter (10k-ish) cycles I don't think it's a requirement to get a proper fitting.

It's certainly nice though so get one if the option is there. After tens of thousands of km on my hybrid I'm now thinking of getting a fitting done because I'm putting in 100+ km per week and am doing a few 100k sportives on it.
