Best golf shoes for a beginner? Dude you should buy the same shoes as rory mcilroy if theyre comfy and you like them, it depends what you want, you can get them from 20 quid to abuot 170, I got a pair of adidas 360 4.0 the other day and i love them, good in the wet too! got them for 91 euro delivered, thats about as much as i would spend, theyre 130 in shops, i also have a pair of etonic ones that are very comfy but lousy in the wet! 50 quid for those ones

as a complete beginner i just bought a pair of hitec from american golf for 21 euro.....

now if I could just get a putter for the same price I would be laughing :)

Get the ones with the "spider" bits at the bottom, as some golf courses don't like the boots with "metal spike" on the bottom.

    =-=

Oh, and I got a pair of Nike golf-shoes from McGuirks, I think.

Being waterproof is the thing another 20 quid is worth payin for IMO

Depends on how keen you are?
If you're a mad keen beginner that will play in all weathers then it will be worth it to get a quality shoe from the start.
If you're more likely to just play an occasional game in the summer then a cheaper pair may well suit.
If you're not sure yet, a 'summer pair' may not be a bad idea anyway because you can 'rest' your good pair (on dry summer days) assuming you take up the game seriously over the winter (and buy a good pair!).
Playing with crap shoes is a disaster - wet, sore feet doesn't add anything to your enjoyment so get a comfortable, waterproof pair if you can afford them ($$$).
Don't buy online unless you are sure of your sizing - try them on somewhere first.

Just make sure they're comfortable... and waterproof! Most decent brands come with a one or two year warranty. You don't want to be walking 18 holes with sore wet feet! A decent pair will set you back between 50 and 80e

If you only play in good weather then any shoe will hopefully be ok. However cheaper shoes may cause your feet to sweat and if that happens then buy a better pair.

My first pair did this and let in water. I changed to Footjoys and have never tried anything else (never needed to),
