TM Type 89 Firing Problem

Having a problem with my Type 89. When selected on semi, 3 round burst or full auto the aeg fires on full. Sometimes when first selected on semi or 3 round burst it may fire properly for a round or two but then reverts back to full. I'm wondering if it is a selector plate problem? If any one has any experience with the Type 89's i'd really appreciate it as i'd like to know what to look for before opening up the gearbox. Cheers

I'd bet a dollar and a pickle that it's the selector plate. I've no experience with the inards of Type 89s but my friend has the Both Elephant one and it's slick. Might seem obvious but have you tried Youtubing and Googling that bad boy?

Cheers Monkey, yeah i have a feeling it is the selector plate. I've Youtubed and Googled the ass out of it but unfortunately not many to be found on the technical or gearbox side of the aeg.

There's a disassembly video. If you take it apart you can probably see if the selector switch is worn or unseated. Just thinking now it could be something in the gear box in which case it gets a lot more complicated. I forgot to ask is it still under warranty?
