Store cards ,does debt dissapear when you die ?

    Hello ,recently we've had a death in the family and a few bills have popped up unexpected.
    I've always thought credit cards/store cards have built in insurance ,but we've got lots of other things to do at the moment:(

    Sorry if I'm not suppose to ask ,but things are really hard at the moment.

    If you're under a certain age then outstanding loans from the credit union get written off but that's the only instance I can think of, it would not apply to outstanding balances on store/credit cards so the relevant institutions would be justified in seeking payment out of the estate i.e. from the executor(s).
