Octavia Rear Wiper nozzle not spraying.

Evening folks. The rear wiper jet hasn't been spraying on the car for a while. Thankfully it's not the usual fault of the line pooping off at the motor, and there doesn't appear to be any staining on the headlining of the car, so I don't think there's a break in the line.

When I go to operate it, it sounds as though the pump is trying to draw water from the bottle, but I could be wrong. Has anybody else had this problem, and how did they go about fixing it?

    Cheers.

mine went in the cold snap when I insisted on trying to use it when it was frozen.

They traced it to under the drivers seat.

Ah. So they changed it from the Mark IV Golf, where they used to run it across the head lining, and there were constant damp patches on them from all the leaks!!!

I did try sucking on the end of the washer line, but was only getting air. Mist have another look over the weekend so.

Its very common for a plastic joiner to seperate behind the left rear quater panel on the octavia/golf etc.

If its that then the more you try to use it the more water is going down under your boot carpet.

Its a pretty straight forwad fix if you wanted to strip off the left side boot carpet/panels yourself.

Cheers man. Haven't been noticing any water innthe boot/ spare wheel well. But there's no harm in looking.

The Fabias pop the joiner off inside the loom near the engine bulkhead.

I have seen lads fixing this, looks like a proper bastard of a job

Perhaps we should all listen to the professionals. 1 torch, 1 Phillips, 1 Torx, 5 minutes later after screwing & unscrewing, plastic joiner in left rear quarter panel reconnected. Wash flowing freely!!!

Fair play Doc. The annoying problem has been solved.

I had the same problem and you could hear the pump in engine bay and the sound of water trickling down the metal c-pillar.

Very weak design alright, the line came apart twice since I've had my car. The second time I joined the lines and put bathroom sealant in and around them and then taped it altoghter to ensure a strong and watertight seal.

So far it seems to be doing the trick, only winter will tell though :)
