Hi Folks,

Complete novice and stupid question.

I want to get a roof rack for my 10 toyota corrolla so i have more room in the car when going away for the weekend. The prams fill the boot so the bags are usually sharing the back seat.

Thing is. I dont want to devalu the car or scratch the paint when fitting and tbh the lads in halfords were useless.

Lads/Lassies. Whats my best solution...

On a fairly new car like that, a Toyota rack would be best, especially if you plan to keep the car a while.

Also check out a Roof Box, on the same page as the first link above.

Tip : There is a slight increase in fuel consumption when any roof rack is fitted, so don't leave it on when you don't need it for long periods of time.

Thanks folks.

Was looking at them in halfords again today. To be honest i never thought they would be so expensive. When you think of it its actually cheaper to hire another car

But thanks. The roof boxes are very expensive in toyota themselves. I am wondering if i buy the bars off toyota and the box in halfords it would actually save me 100 euro.

A bit to think about anyway.

Just get the toyota bars and any roofbox. The toyota boxes are just generic rebranded ones anyhow.

Ok, if you put the rack on carefully you will not damage the car. AS for roofboxes, try www.team.ie, they have an offer on where you can get a roof box, fitting kit and roof bars for not more than €300.
