Travel Insurance

    Hi guys,

Hopefully someone might be able to help me out. Heading to Europe to work for 5 months. Just found out that my health insurance here doesn't cover me past 31 days abroad.

If I buy annual travel insurance that won't cover me past 42 days abroad.

But then I realised surely backpackers get insurance that covers them enough while away. Basically I need a certificate from my insurance company to give to my employer to show that I am covered for "illness and accident" while there.

Any companies I have rang want proof of the day I'm leaving but I don't know that yet as I haven't book flights (can't book for definite for another month), while at the same time organisation I'll be working for require this certificate.

Recommendations for this kind of insurance?

Wary of some companies, relative nearly died abroad in an accident and insurance got out of paying on a tiny tiny detail.

    Thanks
