Straight through pipe on a diesel? Put a stock exhaust on it, I'd say you'd make power.

sounds like you like your car specced felt....

Duel exhaust tips (with one black from diesel smoke) and wheels spacers on some sh*t rims should complete the look

But this is the modified car forum blah blah!!

Not my cup o tea but best of luck with it. I'd be getting rid of the silly exhaust and maybe getting recaros or leather interior, colour code the rubbing strips and handles if not done already and a nice oem style satnav. Body kit is a waste Imo as everything has been done to death on golfs already.

Definitely get rid of that straight through pipe.

Do what colm_mcm said and get some nice wheels too if you haven't already.

Honestly with a diesel golf id blow my budget on shiny reasonably sized deep dish wheels and tyres. ( budget 1k )
Then remap on a dyno and call it quits.

The straight through exhaust has lost you power as those ecus cannot compensate for mods as airflow meter is only used to calculate the amount of egr required, without a map and more boost its cosmetic.

I have a soft spot for the oem look. (says me the rocket scientist with 17s )

get a good size sunstrip, at least half way down the windscreen

Get bumpstrips/doorhandles to match paint (as mentioned above.)
18'' rims with decent dish, BBS replicas or something multispoke.
Get her as low as possible without cutting springs or rubbing :D
    Buy 1 of these grills.
That's what I'd do anyway, I like the ''hellaflush'' style. Mightn't suit everyone.

    Essential!:D

Seriously though, I'd get it remapped, Actually I was talking to a lad at the weekend that said an induction kit would work well with a remap..A proper K&N instead of some cheap ebay one!
A set of GTI alloys? They look well on the newer Mk5, not too sure about the MK 4!? Or something like this....http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=138274029593035&set=a.137297053024066.36990.100002313173916&type=1&theater
And please lose the straight through pipes...they sound ridiculous in my opinion!

wheels= 17" rs8 215 45 17,put in a hid kit and ordered just waiting for black angel head lights , gt tdi seats and gti mats, getting red doorcards, smoked side repeaters(side indicaters) 11" tinted sunvisor, shark fin type ariel. thats what i have done so far. was at the slick irl and midnight club cruise in killarney and a lad offered me a swap +750cash for his white 99 tezza yamaha beams but refused it. he was saying that is 1 of the nicest golfs he has seen in a long while and wanted a swap
