Hotbird @ 13east is 2 far way from Astra 2 which is located at 28 degrees so you will need either to invest in a bigger dish to enable you to receive them both on the one dish or to get another smaller 60cm minimum recommend an 80cm dish preferably triax for hotbird..

Big fan of the F1 , and because of the new broadcast deal between BBC and SKY , i'm looking for alternative platforms to view the races , as i'm not going to be paying SKY for the privilage to watch the full season , so i'm hearing that RTL broadcast the races live, so i'm going to see what its like , i can keep the volume down and just listen to BBC R5 Live commentary .

Go for Astra 1. This has RTL and Sport 1 who show the Practice sessions live.

You can pick up both Hotbird and Astra 1 on a disk that's facing Astra 2 , if you add an extra LNB using a bracket which will allow you to tune in at an offset to the main LNB . It works fine , but requires a diseqc switch to allow a single receiver differentiate between the different satellites .

There are some pictures and advice on this thread at #9 .
