A&K SR25 Upgrade Problems

I went about upgrading my A&K SR25 with a few new bits.
I replaced the hop up rubber with a guarder hop up rubber and replaced the barrel with a 6.01 590mm barrel, which all work a treat
.
My problem is in the gearbox.
I got a G&P SR-25 Full Tooth Piston, which will not work with the original gears at all. On further inspection i noticed that the original piston has 2 less teeth.
Will I have to replace the gears to use the G&P Piston?
And what gears would you all recommend?
