Does anybody know of a good alternative to Nipper for parsing firewall and switch configs? The licensing around nipper is terrible if you are regularly looking at different configs outside your own network.

Can I take it there are not alternatives to nipper out there?

Perhaps this would be better in a networking forum? If so perhaps a mod could move it?

have used nipper a couple of times, it formats the rules nicely,
but thats about it, its security recommendations are so..so and i
usually end up doing the reviews manually or writing quick scripts.

have to agree the pricing is steep..
