What to do?

    Hi all,

I recently met a guy out with friends, one of his friends knows mine. We really hit it off but in the past few days he has been very distant and really doesn't seem to want to talk to me etc..

Basically we spent the whole first night we met talking and all that. Then the next day we got in contact and met up for a date. It was the best date I have ever been on. We then saw each other for four days straight after that as his friends and my friends were inviting us out. During those days we acted like a couple, hand holding, cuddling, kissing.
We then went on a second date(technically 5th date) which too was amazing. We spent the whole day together and he seemed so keen on me. Even had his arm around me and if he didn't he was holding my hand. We talked none stop, it was just amazing.
Then after the date we talked a while and he said "It was great hanging out with you today, I had such a nice time. It was awesome" We spent the night texting each other (his idea too)

Then after that I didn't really hear from him. I assumed it was because he was working late hours etc and we also needed time for our own lifes.

Since then he rarely contacts me, if he does he is really distant and when I asked straight out "Are we going to see each other again" he said "yes, just need to find some free time"
I know it sounds like he is probably really busy but if you like someone that you could have a potential relationship with then you make time. He said "we'll meet up soon"

I just don't know, I really like the guy and love hanging out with him, I am also not forcing any type of relationship on him either but it's the early stages and should be fun.

I just want to know people's thoughts on the situation? should I just cut my loses now? I mean, he really liked me or at least seemed too.

Any help would be appreciated, I am sick of being treated badly as in my past relationships and really thought I had come across a winner :(

You only really went on two dates so do you think you may have come across as over eager maybe?

Also, you mention holding hands etc, were you ever actually physical with him?

Do you mind me asking what age you are?

You could be right, I might be coming on to eager. I was not the one texting and planning dates though? But yes I should back off for a bit.

No, not at all. I am 25 and he is 24.

Even your username "Newrel" I am presuming is an abbreviation of "new relationship". If that's the case then that totally suggests you've got the wrong end of the stick. Going on two dates with a person does not make this a new relationship. Not by a long stretch. If you're projecting that then you will come across as overly keen and that would be a big turn-off for most people.

Also, if you haven't actually been physical bar a bit of hand holding are you sure he doesn't see you as a friend?

To be honest if a guy likes you then you usually know about it. If he's being stand-offish with you and contact has ceased or waned then I'd take it that he's not interested in pursuing it any further. I wouldn't go contacting him again either.
