Acceptance question to postgraduate course -- PAC

Hi just a quick question thats bothering me, I applied recently through the pac for a postgrad course, accepted and paid the €500 deposit. Does anyone know if/when Trinity send out some confirmation of my acceptance? If not, I need to ring them (and can't see the best person to ring on the site), as I need it for my grant this year.

Also, does anyone know exactly who I contact about claiming that €500 back -- TCD or my local VEC?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I got a confirmation after I paid my postgrad deposit, it took a few weeks though.

If you're getting a grant to cover your fees you should probably let Trinity know ASAP because I think they would normally just offset the deposit against the fees. I guess you should contact the Bursar's office.

I just emailed the graduate office today about this. I have acceptance from PAC but never got anything in writing from TCD. Will let you know how I get on.

I emailed the Graduate Studies office. They were very helpful and sent an acceptance letter shortly after.

Thanks folks, just emailed them now. Do hope I won't have any trouble getting my 500 quid back, my friend has done the exact same thing!

As far as I know, you should get it back around March or April when the councils are invoiced for your fees (assuming your grant application is approved). If you're successful, as Gae has said, you should also forward your approval letter to sort out having to pay the balance of your fees.

Hi, I was contacted by the person running my actual course (M.Ed p/t 2 yrs) I haven't heard anything else from TCD. ??? I'm guessing all the info will come in after I've paid up in full come September.

Just incase anyone reads this thread down the line here is some useful info I recieved today:

This is what you need to know:
It will depend if your fees are less than €6270.00 and if you have paid your deposit already.
If you have paid your deposit and your fees are less than €6270 ; you don’t have to pay anymore fees and you will be refunded€500(deposit) less €85 (levies)
If your fees are less than €6270 and you have not paid your deposit yet you can pay the levies only €85.00.
If your fees are higher than €6270 you must paid levies and balance(tuition fee+levies-6270) up front less €500 (deposit) if you have paid your deposit.

For all above situation you MUST have your letter from your county council for 2011/2012 on time for registration.
If you already have the letter please email it to me or fax a copy or send us a copy with your student number/pac number.

If you’re not confident to have your letter on time you must pay your first installment (1/2 tuition +85(levies)-500(deposit if you have paid it))and you will be refunded of the over payment when we receive payment from your council.
And you must submit your letter as soon as you receive it (the council will not inform us).

PS: regarding your letter of acceptance you have to contact Graduate studies office
