Stoves on Ebay

I want to install a stove, just for heating room, no back boiler required.
Have searched and read a lot of the the threads on here, trying to digest all the info on outputs, flues, linings, installation etc etc.

What I really want to know is if there is a good reason not to buy one of the cheaper stoves on offer in UK on ebay. I guess longevity will come into but I am not so bothered by that.

The sort of thing I am looking at is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11kW-Sunrain-JA006-Cast-Iron-2-Door-Multi-Fuel-Stove-/250863271644

    11kw output, cast iron, multi-fuel.

Is there a good reason not to buy this and instead spend 1000 euro + on top brand from local supplier? Safety, performance?

There is a heck of a price difference so there must be some reason?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Have a look at a Clearview. http://www.clearviewstoves.com/

I got a Clearview Pioneer installed recently by http://www.countydownstovesandflues.co.uk/

    Excellent service and installation.

    Talk to David there.:)

Has anyone any experience of chinese brand sunrain. I am thinking of putting one in. I know its a cheaper brand. but my fire place is in a room which will be used on a irregular basis. Maybe one fire a week But its a big room that needs a stove when used

The traditional irish branded stoves are over priced in my view this is because the have a good reputation. But they are very good stoves so you know what you're getting. The other reason to keep away from newer entrants to the market is when parts need replacement. Parts are available and will be available granted customer service can be patchy. A customer bought an old stove it was in bits but she was able to buy all parts needed and now has a lovely stove. But it sounds like you're not worried about the future.

I was going to buy few spare parts with stove and keep them in the attic would you believe. still works out cheaper than buying a well known brand.
