Samsung Galaxy S - USB not recognised

Samsung galaxy s will not be recognised by pc when connected.Always says "USB not recognised" but it charges the phone. It worked the first time I used it when installing kies but hasnt worked since. How can i get it to work so I can sync music to my phone?:confused: Tried on home laptop and work pc. Thanks in advance.
