grant - no evidence of address?

    hi,

    im currently applying for a grant but all of my post gets sent to my parents address, and as such i dont have any proof of address, is there any other way of getting around this problem

    all help would be very much appreciated

    You have proof of your address - your parent's address.

    sorry maybe i should have been a bit clearer.

    i havent lived at home with parents in years, so im applying as an independant mature student. but the problem is that all of my post gets sent to my parents address and not to my current address.

    so therefore i dont have proof of my current adddress (from last year) and as such i dont have proof that i am a independant mature student

    is there any other way around this

    all help would be very much appreciated

    Hi ms patience, This is what i did, Go to your bank and ask them to change your address to your new one, then ask them to send you a bank statement to your new address. Thr statement should be at your new address in a couple of days.
    If you like then you can change your bank account address back to your parents after you have gotten the statment with your new address on it.
    Had to do this myself. :) good luck

    i was going to do this all-right, but i wasnt sure if it would work as i thought they wanted proof of address for the year 2010.the bank statement would only show proof of address for the current time

    I dont think it works like that. Ask the bank for statement going back a year or whatever you need. They wouldl still send you a statement going back ten years with your new address!
    Just as long as you have an official document with your address on it, it should be fine
