Hey guys, just a quick question, how strict are Irish Rail on producing student travel cards? Booking tickets for 2, one who has a card and one who doesn't. You reckon 2 student tickets will do the job or are they very picky on this? Thanks in advance

They will fine you €100 if you have the wrong ID plus the difference in fares. Check the commuting forum for discussion on this.

I wouldn't chance it, I've no idea of the likelihood of being caught. With the discount fares available if you book 3 weeks in advance added to the O2 discount codes available in bargain alerts every Tuesday and Saturday you can usually get a fare cheaper than the Student fare anyway so why risk it?

Indeed, check out the thread linked by schemingbohemia. This is a question for the commuting forum.

Personally I wouldn't risk it to save a few euro.
