    Hi, i have an inspiron n5030 with about 4-5 months and it does not read a portable device eg mp3 or my samsung galaxy s 2 when i plug them into the usb although the device does start to charge when plugged in, could anyone help me with this problem or even give me the number for dell ireland support which is supposed to be free to me for 5 years, thanks

    Have you installed the drivers for the mp3/phone?

    They usually load once device is plugged into usb, i had an iphone which worked perfect on the laptop till i lost the bloody thing.
