Ok so yet again I was let go a few weeks ago, last in first out.

My boss said she would try and help me get sorted and made contact with a recruitment company she was close to and I had a meeting with them. They made a few recommendations and said they should be able to get me an interview with a company they recruit for on a regular basis and they should have a time for me by close of business that day. I sat back and waited and waited. I emailed a few times for feedback on interview times but she either did not reply or did and said there was no update and she would be in contact.

She finally got in contact a week later to say that she sent over my cv but that the company said I did not have enough experience. I emailed back to ask about this and to see what kind of experience I would need and how best to go about getting it. She did not reply. After a few days I rang the company direct and spoke with the lady who was dealing with the recruitment there. She said she saw my CV come in but has not looked at it and had not been in contact with the recruitment company about me. I told her that the girl in rec company had said that they said I had not enough experience but she said they were not in contact. She said she would be in contact next week about possible interviews and I thanked her and asked her not to mention to the rec company that I was in contact as I know how bad this can look.

So what now. Its obvious that the rec company cant be arsed to be honest with me or work in my best interest. So should I just wait and see what happens or maybe show some initiative and approach the company again directly although I could very well shoot myself in the foot. I did say t the lad last week that all I need was a half hour in front of them to prove myself.

    Any and all help appreciated,

    frAg

The recruitment company sound complete crap. Ditch them and try approaching the company directly.

I did that and as thats how I found out that they had not gotten back in contact with Rec company. They said though that should the wish to interview and hire me it would have to go through the agency as thats the deal they have.

    So frustrating

Start you own recruitment company. Recruit yourself. Undercut the Shít out of the oppositon and badmouth the fück out of them.

My brother is in the IT industry. He was receiving jobs from an IT Company and being told"the client says you lack experience". Then he saw this job that fitted his profile perfectly. Got same response from recruiter. He got annoyed contacted company directly said he felt he was perfect for the job. Company hired him a week later on the basis that they were impressed with his get up off your arse attitude.. So get up off your arse and tell the company directly that you think you would fit the job!

Who cares what the recruitment company think. It's not like they are working that hard for you anyway
