There's usually an ad put in one of the local papers for recruitment days that would take place in a local hotel.

Normally they would be there for a couple of weeks so you hand in your cv there and they interview at the hotel in question.

Id ring head office in Dun Laoghaire for more info if needed.

Will keep my eye out in the papers.

Like I said I rang customer services earlier and an English girl picked up, and that isn't the first time either that I've spoke to someone English........anyway I'll give Dun Laoghaire a try.

    Thanks :)

as stated above keep an eye on local papers as it will be advertised if staff are needed. Often staff from other stores will move around though, esp in Dublin and esp at the moment given the general cutbacks everyone is doing so there may not be many positions offered.

for example the nearest store to Cabra may be looking to cut hours out but can't get rid of staff, these staff may be offered a position in the new store, current store cuts hours out, new stores doesn't need to do training etc and starts with experienced staff. win win

Pretty much the situation at the moment, New staff taken on in new stores but staff are not been replaced in old stores or bands not been changed or given more hours.

OP, I don't know what way to go about it I work for Tesco and the jobs are not advertised internally anymore, I remember someone mentioning before that the store nearest the new branch opening handles most of the packaging, staff etc..

I know I was out in Ballbrigan store packing, and it was staff from the group region. So maybe that's how they do it threw CV's from the group region but I doubt it I would go with local level and ask to see the store manager if your serious about a job. Store manager might sound a bit out there but they deal with other stores in the region/group.

Must say this, when your in there is progression within Tesco, I know in my region they are training groups for the FETAC LEVEL 5 Retail management. There's IT , Sales , HR and all that jazz once your in.

So there is alot more than packing shelves once your in if you make your way towards what you want.

Sure the CEO at the moment started on trolleys.

I was told to ring back the head office in a few weeks and they will have a better idea themselves as to whats happening.
