Question about a vaulted ceiling

    theres a room at the back of our house im thnking about converting into a bedroom and was wondering if i could get rid of the ceiling and make a vaulted roof out of it the attic space is small at 5ft max...would this be a costly job or could it be done atall? thanks in advance for any replys.

    You can do, but to do it you should seek the advice of a structural engineer.

    The ceiling (or more correctly the ceiling joists) tie the roof/rafters togother and stop the roof spreading apart, so if you remove the ceiling/ceiling joists you are removing an important element of the roof structure.

    at the minute its an unused kitchen off a conservatory...what kind of pics would ya want ill see if i can get them??
