Just looking for a bit of advice, I have blonde hair and I use clairol shimmer lights shampoo in it to tone it, it worked fab the first time but the second time I used it I must have left it on for a bit too long because some of the underneath layers are a bluey grey.

Is there anything I can put in to fix it? It's not really a big deal if I can't because the streaks are underneath but still it would be good to know!

    Thanks guys :)

I fail to see how not leaving it on as long the next time will get rid of the colour that's already in it now........answer FAIL!!

People who dye their hair too dark use head and shoulders to strip some of the colour off.Maybe it'd take some of the blue out since your hair is light anyhow?

Purple shampoo usually contains toner and you should never leave it in for long, a nice and quick lather up should do the job.

Unfortunately I am not sure what will get rid of the streaks but they shouldn't last long, I think they should wash out but don't hold me too that. I mean it's only a small amount, if it isn't noticeable don't worry and count this as a lesson.

Thanks I might pick up a small bottle of it to try if I can't get it out.

The instructions on the bottle said to wash/rinse and then lather up again for 2-5 mins and I only left it on for about 3 minutes, I just had very light bits which went blue so when I next use it I might stick to 1 minute. My hair is multi toned blonde (and now blue :)) so luckily it's not that noticeable. I have to say though apart from this mishap the shampoo is just fab!

I have a redken clarifying shampoo which says to leave it on for 10 minutes for a lot of build up so i'm hoping that will do the trick!!

When this happens me I just leave my regular shampoo on for a few mins.

It will fade really quick, you won't even notice it in a week.

Use head and shoulders it strips the colour from the hair.... Well it used to anyway.

Worst comes to worst I removed a bright purple semi from my hair using washing up liquid and baking powder/soda to strip my hair back to the white blonde. You'll need a mayonnaise like conditioner to get it back into shape after though...

Then next time only leave it in for a little while.... :p
