I already have a proper holiday planned later in the year but I was thinking of nipping off in the next 2 weeks for a total last minute break in the sun with the other half - just while its quiet in work and I can get a break for a week. I'm not really concerned where, just somewhere warm and sunny that is really Cheap. I had a look on a few of the sites and there are a good few options for about €400 per person - however I'm sure when going for one of these absolute bargain basement holidays you really cannot expect too much and it might end up being fairly awful

So, any recommendations as to what company to use, place to go - or places to avoid? I'm sure some are cheap to go to but you'll end up spending a fortune when you are out there. I really just want a quiet few days away in a warm place to relax and not do much - so what are my best options?

    Thanks

If you're constrained by price, it might be better to take a look at Ryanair, Aer Lingus and a few other airlines (or maybe try Skyscanner) and see what cheap flights are available that take your fancy and then take a look for cheap decent accommodation using booking.com or Venere.com.

I'd recommend either Booking or Venere on the basis that they give good info and include ratings based on customer experiences. You can read reviews of the accommodation too.

If it all seems like too much work, then you may be better just hitting a bricks and mortar travel agent and seeing what they have to offer.

When it comes to a cheap break, I wouldn't be overly fussy about where I stay on the basis that it's merely a bed at night, so once it's not in the heard of the nightlife I can get some well earned kip!

No point recommending anywhere specific, it's all down to taste and experience. One man's meat is another man's poison and all that!

There is a post today on Bargain Alerts mentioning that Direct Holidays have special late offers on flights only to various sun destinations.
