    Hi

Our caravan is out of action and we need to buy a family size tent in Cork tomorrow. Halfords have a 6 man.
Argos are all out of stock on big tents.
I would be grateful for any help on the matter.

    Thanks A

If you haven't already got one and can wait a few days I would recommend buying one through one of the specialist camping shops in the UK.

Even with postage you could save up to 33% on what you will pay for the same family tent here and you'll have a much bigger selection.

Last year I bought a Gelert 5 man Atlantis in Halfords (it was down to about €130 so, even though it was not my first choice, I could cope with it). It is pretty sturdy and is easy to put up (2 person job) and sleeps 5 in comfort. If you want you can get a few more into the porch area (we let one of the kids sleep here on an Aldi camp bed with a decent sleeping bag and a hot water bottle).

I know Halfords just want to get rid of the stock in August so the deals are pretty good.

I've tried the outdoor store on McCurtain St. and the Scout shop but they don't seem to have the range.

Don't get me wrong, either, I think halfords is a shop for selling car stereos to teenagers but if they stock a brand like Gelert I'll suffer it.
