Thinking of getting Sky

    Hi,

I am thinking of getting Sky, I currently have a own dish I bought from Satworld with installation. The Setup is Hotbird/Astra/Eurobird with 2 LNB.
The installer connected the two lnb to a DiseqC Switch so one single cable goes into the receiver. I have understood from reading the forum that Sky is using the Astra satelites and that the Sky box is not able to handle a switch.
Since I would still would like to get Astra and Eurobird on my FTA receiver I was thinking of getting a LNB with two connectors and set the second connector to Sky. Would Sky install this for me or would they charge? Or do they prefer to setup their own dish?

I don't really see the point of have 2 dishes as the one I have are able to handle both.

This is the following strenght showing in the receiver:

    Eurobird 1
    Level 90 %
    Quality 75 %

    Hotbird 13E
    Level 90 %
    Quality 82 %

    Astra2A
    Level 90 %
    Quality 75 %

Are these values enough to get good signal with Sky?

You'll have no problems receiving Sky with those values. You have good signal strength and quality from Astra2A and Eurobird which are the satellites you need for Sky TV/UK FTA.

The installer will be more than happy to use an existing dish as it means less work for him,he'll swap your existing single lnb for a quad which will leave 2 free ports for you to use yourself to connect extra boxes elsewhere in the house (Sky+ uses 2 cables)

So I would need a quad lnb in order to get Sky? What is the second connector used for with Sky+?
What I read on forums is that Skys own lnb are not fitting on normal universal brackets, which I guess I have so I would then need to buy a quad lnb then. Any suggestion which to buy? I say Satworld world be a good choice since I know where they are located, but any other store is fine aswell, both online and psysical store.
