1992 E36 320i buzzing(?) sound

Alright I'll do my best to describe the symptoms my car developed.

When reaching certain speed-say 20mph-with windows rolled down I can hear a definite buzzing(kinda like tk tk tk tk tk tk) sound coming from the right hand side of the car. The noise gets quicker as speed picks up and wheels turn faster. Now when I press the brake pedal the noise becomes more intense and quicker despite the fact that the wheels are slowing down.

I recently changed a few bits on the car myself for NCT. Installed coil-overs car lowered by 40mm, new discs-dimpled and grooved-performance pads all around. Also changed control arm bushings and stabilizer link rods.

Tyres currently on the car are 205/50 R16 at the front-car failed on NCT due to original tyres rubbing on body on full-lock(doh!)
225/50 R16 at the back-no clearance issues there.

    Things I checked already:
-Discs, pads, calipers, anti-rattle springs, shocks, nail-screw in tyres.

Any help would be appreciated as I am out of ideas. (well I suspect maybe worn bearings??)

PS: On the way home today I tested the car doing quick steering-wheel movements to the right and the noise disappeared for a second or two

You say it's a buzzing noise but it's tk tk tk tk - this is confusing! A faulty wheel bearing will make a humming noise and if it's only on 1 wheel, driving and veering (carefully!) from side to side will show up the faulty wheel bearing as weight is put on it and taken off it.

Was this noise in it before the tyres were replaced? Is it possible to swap the fronts to the back to see if it's still there? Were the 205's new tyres or second hand, is there much thread on them and are they a cheap brand?

When you put the new pads in, were they moving around the carrier freely? Did you clean all the corrosion and dirt off them, to prevent anything jamming? Were the discs from a reputable manufacturer? Would it be possible to put your old discs back on to rule them out?

Sorry about the description but found no other word in english which would describe the sound apart from buzzing. It does make a sound of more like clicking than buzzing.

Sound was there before I put the new tyres on alright, thought it was them rubbing on the body and front shocks.

Discs are suppose to be good ones, OEM discs barely 100miles on them. Cleaned them off before installing alright.
Unfortunately I dont have the old discs any more, so cant check them but will definitely have a look at the calipers/carriers tomorrow.

As for it being bearing, car just failed on NCT three weeks ago, yo man would have definitely spotted if they were worn as I seen him testing them.

Unless there was play in the bearing chances are it won't fail the NCT. NCT centres are noisy places so a rumble from a wheel bearing could easily be missed.

    Welcome to the forum muckey.

It is good to get someone who knows certain brands quite well.

However your posts are a little hard to read, you should use full stops and spaces where possible. It breaks up the text and leaves it easier to read.

I dunno if its the same buts sounds like a problem me and a pal encountered with a VW van, a nut had come off the brake caliper on one of the front wheels a got caught somewhere inbetween the wheel and the hub.

made a very consistent clicking like sound which varied with the speed of the van...
