Denon 1911 question

    Hi,
I know some of the Onkyo Receivers offer pass-through meaning you can watch TV without the receiver on, but the Denon's don't seem to offer this.
I'm just wondering though, given that the 1911 has HDMI 1.4 meaning that the signal between the TV and the Amp is two-way, can I just plug all the HDMI equipment into the TV directly and have the Amp pick up the return signal from the TV?
Sorry, I know this is more of a HE forum question, but I thought some of the RS guys may have tried this already and know the answer!!
    Thanks!

    hi
I have Denon 1911 and I have one HDMI going out from TV to receiver, then from receiver I have HDMI going out to UPC box and one HDMI to DVD player. I can watch cable tv without having receiver swited on, its on standby, I do remeber in manual its written how to set it up, but I don't have it in my head. I hope this is answering your question. let me know if you need more info.

    Hi Lalipule.

    Thanks for the enquiry.

Firstly, you have to have a TV that supports HDMI control.

If this is the case then you have to turn the HDMI control on the 1911 to "on".

It comes out of the box as set to off.

You need to go into :

    Manual Setup
    HDMI setup
HDMI control and set this to on.

There is also the option called "stanby source". This tells the receiver to set that a specific HDMI will pass the signal through or you can set it to "set to last" which means that the last input you were on will be the one that is output. eg. If your sky is set to HDMI 2 then setting it to 2 will always pass the sky through. If you have it set to last, then if you are watching a bluray and switch off the receiver then the sky signal will not pass through.

I hope this helps but if you are in any doubt, just let me know.

    ATB
